| La Compagnie du Vent |
IN THE SERVICE OF THE WINDPOWER INDUSTRY
|
La Compagnie du Vent operates in all areas of the wind power domain.
For over ten years, La Compagnie du Vent's Studies and Measures Department has been undertaking site searches and potential wind power measures (including statistical and aerodynamic analysis for third parties), they are also responsible for completing technical and economical files.
This is how 'La Compagnie du Vent' undertook a wind turbine scheme for the community of Issy l’Evêque (in the Saône et Loire), in order to facilitate the selection process, via call for tender, for the operator who will be involved in the developpment of the projects retained. This scheme, undertaken by the R & D Project Department of 'La Compagnie du Vent', not only took into account the wind potential (but also the constraints of the implementation process whether they be technical, environmental or landscape-based. It is important to realise that 'La Compagnie du Vent' undertook this project with complete impartiality as they are in no way involved in the follow up development of this project.
In addition, following a request from the ADEME (Agency for Environment and Energy Management), La Compagnie du Vent developped GeoWind, a manufacturing software device used to simulate the wind power potential for a given region or country. GeoWind has made it possible to draw up a wind atlas for the regions of Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées, Haute-Normandie, Picardie, Corsica, French Guiana and Martinique, that is some 125,000 square kilometres altogether. The wind power atlas for the Moroccan coastline, from Essaouira to Layoune, will also be drawn up thanks to Geowind.
